....Well not so shortly. Been a little tired and slightly hung over ! A top notch task brilliantly set by an enlightened organisation - even if they landed everyone out :). Apart from the border shenanigans landing out in Serbia was a delight, the field was good with easy access, a local picnic party from Mokrin in a tractor and trailer stopped and fed and watered Jean Luc Colson and I with the left overs from their barbecue and some fine home made distilled grape spirits - the village policeman rolled up was as friendly as the rest, he took our passports but assured us we would get them back - we did. They were a really great bunch of people, took our e-mail addresses and told us to look at Mokrin facebook site.

More police rolled up and stayed with us in the dark until the trailers arrived around midnight. They gave us some invaluable information about a local bridge that had been washed away in the floods - by the look of the fields in Serbia it's still subsiding. Bruno arrived around midnight having had an interesting time at the border with typical border delays - then being flagged down by 2 off duty police who were thumbing a lift home - again really helpful guys and very amusing.

We departed the field after midnight - I tried to give the police a tip for being so helpful - to their credit they would not accept anything. We got within a mile of the border crossing and had a blowout on the trailer - I carry 2 spares and a trolley jack so it took about 10 minutes. We arrived at the border, had our passports and glider documents taken and parked with about 30 other trailers. A large group of shabby pilots and crew were waiting around a doorway waiting to get their documents processed, got my documents back at just after 3am and headed home for bed. Bruno did a sterling job despite no satnav roads of serbia and only an airmap for guidance.

.... As for the flying - I started with Stefano Ghiorozio in his Diana and hung onto his shirt tails ( leeched ) for the first 2 turns and then had to fend for myself after that, It was all a grotty low affair - I arrived at the 3rd Turnpoint at just over a 1000 feet and then headed back to some large fields to land out - found a nice 1 knot thermal with V ( Jean Luc Colson ) and climbed slowly back to 2300 feet - looked down at the TP only to realise that it was an airfield - full of gliders, big smile as I glid out for an extra 20km and as luck would have it the day win.
