Hot and steamy once again, started rigging a 8am - by 9am it was 25.5 deg and climbing. First official pracice day, looks like they sacked yesterdays met man - apparently no one had a clue what he was saying, instead the director said it would be a nice day with a high likelihood of localised storms -- he was right. They set a 3 hour assigned area task, we got out early and were shepherded to the front of the grid by "chabba" ( nice guy ). Had an incredibly bumpy ground run, full to the gunwales ( nearly ) - straight into 4 knots - up to cloudbase, met up with Stephen and Mac ( Makoto Ichikawa ) and spent the afternoon trailing around after them in their 18m gliders, a ventus 2ax full of water on a strong day is a nice glider. We didn't have any real bother except we declined the last area because of a small storm sat over it. Landed and de-rigged. Stephen spent some time fixing his bug wipers, I fixed the power supply to my iPaq - Bruno nearly fixed his caravan but will try again tomorrow.

Looks good and flyable tomorrow and friday - getting cool and showery for sunday
